In 2016, Utendahl left Deutsche Bank to join Bank of America as the Executive Vice Chairman of Global Corporate and Investment Banking. Utendahl has been married twice in his life. His first marriage was to Phyllis Hollis, a former model and actress, with whom he had two daughters: Lauren and Asia. They divorced in 1999 after 17 years of marriage. His second marriage was to Tyra Banks, a famous model and media personality, whom he dated from 2007 to 2011. They never had any children together.
